Chelsea Foundation Cultural Fund

In line with our vision, mission and strategic pillars of Fundraising and Partnerships & Community Engagement, the Chelsea Foundation (CF) is creating a cultural fund which will be used to grant funds to community organizations, groups or individuals to perform charitable work in the community of Chelsea. The fund will support renovation and construction projects, acquiring of cultural property, cultural education and many other types of charitable cultural initiatives.

In August 2023, the CF signed a grant agreement with LFSM for the purpose of supporting cultural activities in the community of Chelsea.

La Fab sur Mill under construction

Our newest partner is La Fab sur Mill (LFSM).  LFSM purchased the 150-year-old United Church building on Mill Road to establish a permanent home for the performing and visual arts.

Since 2021, LFSM launched a major renovation project to restore and convert the church into an arts centre.  This $1.2 million project is now in its second phase with the restoration and modernization of the church building.

We are reaching out to the community to help fund this phase of the project through a $200,000 campaign.  The exciting news is that every dollar raised will be matched.  So, you donation will be going twice as far.

Located at 8 ch. Mill, Chelsea (Québec). LFSM co-ordinates and creates high quality arts and cultural programming for all levels of artistic abilities and audiences.  For details on LFSM and their projects, please visit their website: https://www.lafabsurmill.ca/

Donors can indicate their program preference for how the CF will apply their donation, but ultimate authority on the use of resources will rest with the CF. If the CF does not use the donation the way the donors prefer, the CF will not return the donation to the donor as per Canada Revenue Agency requirements.
